What happens when you realise a glow-up isn’t the answer to all your problems?

In Reasonable Crash Out, Ling is convinced that changing her body will win her the love she craves. But after her transformation, she was still rejected—and this time, it hit even deeper. Maybe the problem isn’t on the outside, but something within: if she can’t love herself, how can she receive love?

Written by Ern Linn Chong, directed by Xuan Ge, and produced by Shiyu Lou, this darkly funny coming-of-age story explores the brutal quest for love in a world obsessed with appearances. Told through an ESEA queer lens, the play highlights the unique challenges of those who feel their voices aren’t reflected in mainstream narratives. It offers an intimate and fresh perspective on the universal struggles of body image, mental health, and love.

L Cube, a collective led by ESEA queer creatives, brings this original piece to the Camden Fringe for a three-night run. With a mix of sharp wit and emotional honesty, Reasonable Crash Out speaks to anyone who has ever questioned their worth or battled with self-love.
