Purpose of This Service

Sound Behind Curtain offers a Supporting News service designed to help artists and companies promote their theatre productions while supporting the sustainability of our independent platform.

For a contribution of £26, you can have your news article or press release published on our website under the News section. This fee helps us cover editorial and operational costs, ensuring that our reviewers and editors can continue to provide independent coverage of Asian and cross-cultural performing arts in the UK.

What You Receive

1. One news post published on the Sound Behind Curtain website (in the News section).

2. Optional sharing on our Instagram accounts (subject to schedule).

3. Permanent visibility: your article remains online and can be linked in your marketing materials.

Please note: this is not a review; it is a paid promotional feature clearly labelled as such.

What to Submit

Please send your materials to contact@soundbehindcurtain.com with:

- A press release or news text (around 300–600 words). Please provide a Word file version; PDF files are not accepted.
- A file containing at least one high-resolution landscape photo (JPEG or PNG, with photographer credit).
- Basic details:

• Show title

• Company or artist name

• Venue, date, and time of performance

• Ticket link (if applicable)

- A short (1–2 sentence) description for social media sharing.

Submissions missing key details may be declined or delayed.

Editorial Process

Once received, our editor will review your materials for clarity, tone, and relevance. We may make light edits for grammar, formatting, or style consistency. We reserve the right to decline submissions that do not fit our editorial focus on Asian and cross-cultural performing arts, or that contain promotional claims we cannot verify. Approved articles are generally published within 3–5 working days after payment. After your news article has been published, you will receive a confirmation email from our editorial team. Please check the inbox or our website.

Contribution

Sound Behind Curtain is an independently run cultural commentary platform.

We ask for a voluntary contribution of £26 from contributors whose work is published, to help cover website hosting, editorial time, and ongoing maintenance. Contributions are made via PayPal or bank transfer. Publication proceeds once the contribution is received.

Please note that this contribution is not a fee for service and is non-refundable once the article is published.

Ethical & Editorial Standards

Published paid news features are clearly marked as “Sponsored” to maintain transparency.

Publication does not imply endorsement of the production’s content, organisation, or political message. All text and images remain the property of their respective creators and are published with credit.
