©️Stampin’ into the Graveyard
Immersive, intimate, and hauntingly beautiful, Stampin’ into the Graveyard invites its audience into a delicate exploration of love, loss, and the fragility of memory, into a place where the end of the world is not a spectacle of chaos but an internal landscape of longing and heartbreak.
Audiences are guided by Rose, an AI chatbot who gives advice for the end of the world while holding the memories of her creator. Audience members wear headphones, becoming enveloped in layered, immersive soundscapes, while videos and timed effects add subtle surprises to the experience. On stage, plastic sheeting under the dimming light gradually becomes Rose’s flowing gown, and the physical performances are smooth and expressive, making the emotional moments feel immediate and grounded.
Written and performed by Elisabeth Gunawan, the story unfolds in fragments based on the choices made by andience members through voting at each step, allowing the audiences to experience how a love story can build, break, and linger through small, precise moments. This structure allows the past and present to coexist, revealing the profound beauty of fleeting moments. It emphasized internal choices and memory, rather than dramatic plot twists, giving the show a reflective and personal tone.
Stampin’ into the Graveyard is a delicate and inventive piece that leaves a lasting impression. By combining technological ingenuity with deeply human storytelling, it transforms the audience into participants in a beautifully orchestrated meditation on love and loss. It is a production that lingers, quietly echoing in the mind long after the world of the stage has vanished.
